Only One Word to Describe the GoPro HD Motorsports HERO Camera – Great
Having taken the camera out of the box, you’ll want to get started on an adventure that you can capture in video. Go ahead and strap it onto your helmet or mount it on the windshield of your car. There’s nothing that this camera can miss with its wide field of view. To make things even better, the video you capture is in high def. Going through rough patches of road, you’ll still get a great picture.
Don’t you worry when you get to the furthest reaches with your GoPro HD Motorsports HERO Camera because the battery lasts long enough. Just to be sure though, you might like to purchase an additional battery for those lengthy hours of filming (and just in case, you can’t help yourself from recording). The only problem that you’ll ever run into with this baby is the small status screen. You never really know if it’s recording, if you’re on still mode or timed mode. Also, it doesn’t have an LCD screen from which you can preview the footage that you took. If you’re confident in your filming skills though, things will turn out great by using GoPro HD Motorsports HERO Camera.

the good…
Great package. Plenty of accessories for customized mounting. nice small and simple design. strong housing, yet clasp can be broken easily if not properly aligned and forced to close. Amazing picture quality. setup menu a little dated.
the bad…
Was bought for its waterproof qualities in preparation for a Fiji trip. HOWEVER, contrary to what GoPro touts, it is not great for underwater. The reason is the housing curvature over the lense curvature combined with water defraction creates blurry images. this is only found in the GoPro FAQs. very misleading. do an internet search on this. had to buy a special housing with flat lense from eyeofmine.com at $80. Now picture quality underwater is the same as above water. this is where my two stars came from.
If you want it for underwater and don’t mind buying a new housing for $80, then I recommend, if not, don’t buy.
If you are using this not for its waterproof qualities, then I recommend.
Good comment. I think it’s fine for most users – I haven’t even through about taking it underwater, but thanks for the note on that!
